BIDS OF AFFECTION

Back to Dr. John Gottman who explains that a bid is an attempt from one partner for attention, affirmation, affection, or any other positive connection. They can show as a smile, wink, request for advice, help, a hug, a cuddle or more.

To miss a "bid" is turning away from the person you are professing to love, the results of which are devastating.

Here at A Mating Pair, we are making and positively responding to bids with a smile. Daily gratitude, saying "thank you" and giving and receiving bids of affection with joy makes for a very happy life.

Mermaid and Cyborg have been mystified why violence, simulated murder and man's inhumanity to man is the stuff of highly rated TV shows and movies, yet somehow a mating pair's expression of love, attraction and desire is frowned upon.

A mating pair expresses PDA and we love to see others do so as well.

We believe the world needs much less violence and much more affection. Recently, Mermaid and Cyborg were at a public pool where there were many other couples.

We jumped in and were very playful with each other including PDA. The other couples followed our lead and started being more playful with each other. Everyone was happier.
